SLB is a global technology company committed to driving energy innovation for a balanced planet. With operations in over 100 countries and a workforce representing more than 100 nationalities, SLB is dedicated to advancing innovation in oil and gas, delivering digital transformation at scale, decarbonizing various industries, and developing and scaling new energy systems to accelerate the energy transition. The elimination of methane emissions and routine flaring presents an opportunity for the industry to demonstrate its commitment to addressing the climate crisis. SLB End-to-end Emissions Solutions (SEES), in collaboration with its customers, aims to accelerate the journey towards a future free of emissions and routine flaring.

In this episode of Methane Talks, we are joined by Tim Okabayashi, SEES Consulting Manager at SLB. Tim joined SEES in October 2022 as Consulting Manager, heading up their global consultancy team. Tim has a background both in environmental compliance and upstream operations. Most recently, he has been digitally transforming well construction for operators around the world. Based in Cambridge, UK, he helps energy companies find and map their methane pathways – planning measurement strategies, prioritizing abatement options, and assessing new technologies from a technical and economic perspective.

Listen as we talk about how stopping routine flaring and venting is a key component of methane mitigation, which can be done at cost or for profit. Additionally, Tim shares expert insights on how operators can monetize on methane not emitted, the technologies available, and how to choose the right one.
