From January 2025, CO2 emissions from shipping in Europe will be reined in by regulation for the first time.
For industries that use fossil fuels, including shipping, the pressure is on to fund research into alternative fuels which can be scaled up, made viable, and made widely accessible for operators. During the transition period, maritime operators are also keen to find more efficient ways to use fossil fuels and leverage the latest technologies, to help reduce emissions as soon as possible.
