Mark Hutcherson is the Director, Low Carbon Projects and Technology in the Low Carbon Technologies (LCT) organization. The LCT team is responsible for global oversight and strategy on operational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction efforts. The team is also focused on delivering strategy around energy transition themes, including hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
Mark coordinates across global business units to promote work practices and the prioritization of projects which reduce GHG emissions. He collaborates with other corporate teams including technology, sustainable development, environmental assurance, and other technical functions to advance workstreams contributing to emissions reduction efforts.
Mark began his career with ExxonMobil in 2001 working facilities engineering and project management roles on and offshore in several US basins before moving to a non-operated technical oversight role with Burlington Resources for Latin America and China assets in 2005.
In the 15 years following Burlington’s acquisition by ConocoPhillips, he has developed a broad operations and engineering background by transitioning through various technical and leadership roles in the Lower 48, Alaska, Australia, and Corporate.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University .
