Environmental Manager Formentera Operations

With over 15 years of knowledge as an EHS professional in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Vela currently serves as the point of contact on ESG, sustainability, and environmental matters in his role with Formentera as Environmental Manager. Prior to Formentera, Isaac was a section manager and held various technical roles with TCEQ’s Office of Air, Office of Compliance and Enforcement, Office of Waste, and also serving as a consultant. Principally that work involved advising on air permitting, regulatory, and technical matters, responding to public comment, and hearing requests, and representing the Executive Director before the Commissioners and at the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Isaac also vetted emerging air quality technologies for emission reductions and worked with the attorney general on several projects. Isaac has actively participated in various methane projects in a technical capacity for the 2021 NASA/JPL Study over the Permian Basin, The Environmental Partnership, and The Texas Methane and Flaring Coalition drafting of oil and gas industry best practices. Isaac has a passion for emerging technologies and advising start-ups in the environmental field. He earned his B.S. in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin with a minor in environmental sciences.
