Chris Rathbun is the Program Manager for the Methane Guiding Principles, which he joined in July 2022. He has over 28-years of global HSE and operational experience in the oil and gas industry, mostly with Shell, focusing primarily on hydrocarbon emission management. Chris played a pivotal part in introducing methane optical imaging to the oil and gas industry through its initial deployment and was deemed a subject matter expert in hydrocarbon leak detection and repair. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science from CSUDH. Chris worked in multiple countries throughout his career, and currently resides in California.
