Many companies have committed to near-zero methane emissions by 2030, but how will they prove that they have accomplished this? Measurement Informed Inventories (MII) have increasingly become the standard to be compliant with various initiatives and regulations (e.g. OGMP 2.0, CDPHE GHG Intensity Rule). However, MII’s come in several flavours, with many complexities and are open to significant interpretation that could lead to high uncertainties or even answers that are plain wrong. So how do you protect against errors and how do you know how wrong your MII could be?
This session will:
· Demonstrate the dramatic impacts that proper measurement data conditioning can have on your MII
· Provide real-world sensitivity analysis on the impact that proper data handling and calculations can have on your MII using the Veritas Pathway 2 protocol
· Inform you how measurement uncertainty can be characterized and applied to measurements
· Illustrate how measurement uncertainty changes as it is propagated in calculations for a single site and rolled-up to a corporate level
· Apply uncertainty principles and analysis techniques from other parts of the industry that can help us in the Veritas 3 protocol (OGMP 2.0 aligned)
