4:00 PM Panel: The Regulatory Revolution: Adapting to the New World of Methane Mandates

The last 12 months have brought a wave of new methane regulations around the world, fundamentally changing the landscape for companies and policymakers. This panel assembles policy experts to dissect the intricate network of emerging standards, share lessons learned, and propose foundational principles for future regulations, all with the aim of fostering global harmony in methane regulation. Our experts will:

  •  Analyze the far-reaching implications of new import standards and their potential to drive global methane reduction efforts beyond national borders
  • Explore the evolving role of multi-lateral policy agreements in aligning international methane reduction strategies, with a focus on how Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are incorporating methane targets in 2025
  • Examine key lessons from regulatory pioneers, including insights from the U.S. WEC and EU import standard. How can these experiences inform effective policy development in diverse economic and technological contexts globally?
