Pre-Conference Workshop Day: Tuesday 25th February

2:15 PM Workshop J: OGI Meets EU Regulation: Assess the Viability of OGI Technologies for Regulatory Compliance

New LDAR requirements introduce a significant challenge for operators, far beyond what is being required of their US counterparts: not only must they detect methane leaks, but they must also quantify them with precision. OGI technology has been a staple of methane detection, but many now have questions about how such technologies can be adopted and integrated into new LDAR programs to ensure compliance. This workshop will:

  • Analyse effectiveness of OGI tech for Type 1 LDAR campaigns – can they meet the 17g/hour detection threshold?
  • Evaluate how OGI can allow operators to safely and accurately measure at close proximity to emissions sources, in line with regulatory requirements
  • Address limitations of traditional OGI technologies and explore how quantification capabilities can be integrated
  • Discuss training requirements and best practices for effective deployment of the technology
