Interconnector operates in a unique context as the owner of the bi-directional gas pipeline between the UK and Belgium, offering an export capacity of 20 bcm/year and an import capacity of 25.5 bcm/year. Set across two different regulatory jurisdictions, they have adopted a ‘best practice’ approach which has allowed this small team to achieve the level 2 and subsequently level 4 OGMP 2.0 standard within the space of only 2 years. As other small to mid-sized operators strive to follow in their footsteps, this case study will share their journey to reduce CH4 emissions and the challenges they faced and successfully overcame along the way.
