Contrôle de Performance TotalEnergies

Pre-Conference Workshop Day: Tuesday 25th February

8:30 AM Workshop A: Developing Flare Specific Emissions Factors: How to Identify and Implement the Flaring Gold Standard

A key component of new regulation requires flare stacks to have a combustion efficiency of 99%. Therefore, it is now crucial for operators to develop flare specific emissions factors whilst also addressing flare reduction. This workshop will delve into innovative flaring solutions, exploring their viability and potential to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

  • Understanding the influence and measurement of destruction efficiency when calculating emissions factors
  • Building a theoretical model of destruction efficiency
  • Lessons learnt on different method reliability from across 20 global assets
  • Setting KPIs and metrics for evaluating flare efficiency, including flare gas recovery rates, combustion efficiency, and flare tip velocity
  • Evaluating techniques such as vent gas capture and re-injection, vapor recovery systems, and process optimization to reduce venting emissions and conserve valuable resources
  • Avoiding wasted gas by assessing alternative methods to closed flares for avoiding non-combusted flares
