The CMC Atmospheric Fugitive Emission (CMC-AFE) test facility was launched in early 2025, designed for testing and validation of methane emission detection and validation technologies. It has served as a key site for the Alberta Methane Emissions Program (AMEP) new technology testing. It features multiple release points in simple or aerodynamically complex scenarios (such as oilfield equipment groupings), centralized gas conditioning and flow control capabilities, automated gas release with broad range of flow rates and durations.
During the tour, participants will learn how the CMC-AFE facility has the versatility to accommodate multiple test objectives that enable performance evaluation and best practices for operational deployment and get a close-up look at various technology solutions to understand their approach to optimize detection and quantification of the methane plume.
Return transportation from Downtown Calgary will be provided.
You’ve measured your emissions - now what? With many operators consolidating their inventories, the real challenge is shifting from data collection to real, impactful methane reduction. This hands-on workshop will help you bridge the gap between knowing your emissions and effectively cutting them.
Accurate and actionable data is essential for regulatory compliance, voluntary commitments, and internal reporting. However, creating a seamless system that integrates field operations, data management, and leadership oversight is no easy task. This workshop will explore practical strategies for building an automated, end-to-end emissions management process that empowers field teams, enhances data-driven decision-making, and fosters accountability at all levels.
Optical Gas Imaging Quantification (OGIQ) is changing the game by moving beyond just detecting leaks to measuring emissions with precision. But how reliable is it, and how can you make it work for your operations? This workshop breaks it down, giving you the insights and strategies to put OGIQ to work.
Accurate reconciliation of emissions data remains a complex challenge for the industry yet is a cornerstone of OGMP 2.0 L5 which is widely regarded as the gold standard for reporting and quantification. This workshop will dive into the technicalities of the process and leave you better equipped to implement best-practice within your own operations.
