Timothy Youmans is Executive Director of Engagement for Calvert Research and Management, which specializes in responsible and sustainable investing across global capital markets. As a recognized senior leader in responsible investing and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) engagement, Mr. Youmans supports Calvert’s mandate to deliver both positive impact and investor value by developing deep relationships with select investee companies focusing on making tangible improvements in company ESG performance. He is a member of the Harvard Law School Institutional Investor Forum Advisory Council and has co-authored articles on corporate governance and strategy in Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. He joined Calvert in 2022. Mr. Youmans joined Calvert from EOS at Federated Hermes where he led EOS North America, built a 12-person engagement team, and served on the Council of Institutional Investors’ Corporate Governance Advisory Council. Previously he was research director for the CEO Investor Forum at CECP – Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose. Mr. Youmans served as a research scholar at Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management’s Family Office Program. Earlier in his career, Mr. Youmans started and ran a consulting practice, served as executive vice president of a venture-funded start up and managed a large family office. He received an MPA and is a Lucius Littauer Fellow from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from the University of Southern Maine and a BS in Management from the United States Coast Guard Academy. Mr. Youmans is a retired Coast Guard officer, serving both afloat and ashore in Alaska, Washington, D.C., and Maine, and is a service-disabled veteran. Upon his military retirement, Mr. Youmans received the Coast Guard Commendation Medal citing his work with the United States Secret Service.
